Homepage news and events

The homepage has the option to show recent news articles and upcoming events near the bottom of the page. But since there is no button on the homepage to add a news article or add an event, you might be wondering how to do that. Here’s how:

1. On the homepage, click on the "Modify settings" tab in the light blue box. 

2. Next, you'll want to check the boxes "Show recent news articles," and "Show upcoming events" to enable these to be seen on your homepage.

News Articles

If you would like to show news articles on the home page, you'd need to first add at least one page that's a “News” type, which can be done from the Admin Control Panel.

1. Go to the “Pages” section on your dashboard.

2. Click on “Add new page” and select the “News Articles” option.

3. Next select “Publish a new article,” which will add articles directly to the news page.

4. Once you've done that, they'll begin showing up on the homepage!

Calendar Events

To show calendar events, you’ll need to first add the “Calendar” page from the Admin Control Panel and then add your desired events.

1. Go to the “Pages” section on your dashboard.

2. Click on “Add new page” and select the “Calendar” option.

3. Once created, you can add events by selecting “Create new event.”

4. After you’ve finished adding all of your events, they'll begin to show up on the homepage.

Important Note

The news articles and events will be tailored based on what the visitor or logged in resident has the privileges to see. Therefore, if you have one news page restricted to residents only, and one visible to anyone, and a non-logged-in visitor views the homepage, they will only see the news articles from the unrestricted news articles page.
